Spa Reservation and Cancellations

  • Treatments and services are by appointment only, please call (506) 2681-2100 to make your appointment. If you are already a guest, please call extension 5100.
  • We request the courtesy of a 12 hour notice in the event you need to re-schedule or cancel your appointment, otherwise full treatment charge will apply for no-shows.
  • Cancellation of packages or group reservations requires 48 hours advanced notice.
  • Guests arriving late for a scheduled appointment may not receive a full treatment, this lessening its effectiveness and pleasures. The full value of your treatment will be charged regardless if you arrived tardy.
  • All spa treatments and services are subject to an automatic 10% service charge.
  • We accept all major credit cards and traveler's checks.
  • You may also charge Spa services to your hotel room.
  • Prices are in U.S. currency.

Time to relax

  • Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to relax and enjoy our luxurious spa facilities which include: lockers and showers, robe and comfortable slippers, vanity amenities, steam room, sauna, pool, and a relaxation lounge.
  • Most body treatments are enjoyed without clothing, however, for your comfort, we provide disposable underwear to wear during your treatment. While receiving your body treatment you are fully draped except for the area being worked on. Robes and slippers are also provided in the gentlemen's and ladies' locker rooms.
  • This is your special time and we want you to enjoy your experience to the fullest. Please let your therapist know if the room temperature, the amount of the massage pressure or the volume of the music is pleasing to you. We welcome your comments regarding your preferences or discomforts.
  • Shaving is recommended, but not necessary prior to a facial. Should you choose to shave prior to your facial, be sure to do so at least two hours prior to your appointment.

Spa Etiquette

  • Spa guests must be at least 18 years old.
  • We request that cell phones and pagers be turned off in the Spa. If you are a guest of the hotel, please leave valuable items in the safety deposit box in your guest room. Otherwise, lockers are available for your personal items at the Spa facility. JM MarriottĀ® Guanacaste Resort & Spa is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items.


  • Gratuities of 10%-15% are customary, but they are also a matter of personal discretion and should reflect your satisfaction. You may choose to leave gratuities in cash or charge them to your guestroom or credit card.

Fitness Center Etiquette

  • Fitness Center guests must be at least 16 years old.
  • Fitness Center guests must wear proper attire at all time.
